You’ve just taken a huge step to address safety and health in your organization. There are a few more steps for you to complete, and we’ve listed them below.
- Your entries have been used to create your customized Word document, which was sent to you via email from Nonprofit Safety Hero. Save the Word document, which is an attachment to the email. Be sure to check your spam box if you don’t see it in your inbox.
- Work with your board, staff, volunteers, and clients to gather the details you need to complete the Accident Prevention Program. The second section of the document contains prompts to fill in the areas of safety concern that you identified in the Tool.
- Once the plan is created, make sure everyone knows how to access it, and make sure that new members of your organization receive a copy as part of the onboarding process. It’s also important for staff and volunteers to review the document when they change roles or take on new responsibilities.
- Remember, this plan is a living document that will change with your organization. Make sure it gets reviewed and updated regularly, and that any changes are communicated to your staff.
